When Sohla was a college student, she worked at a Cheesecake Factory. After that, she decided to pursue her love of food by becoming a chef. Soon after getting her graduation, Sohla started working in restaurants in New York City, including Joe Bastianich’s Del Pasto.

Then, in March 2016, she and her partner opened the Hail Mary cafe in Brooklyn, which was well-received. Sadly, after just 11 months, their restaurant had to close.

In 2018, she served as the culinary editor for the website and food blog Serious Eats Magazine. After that year, she began making appearances on the Bon Appétit magazine’s official YouTube channel and was elevated to assistant food editor.
