The Wonder is a historical drama that centers on Lib Wright (Florence Pugh), an English nurse who is tasked with examining and documenting the case of Anna (Kla Lord Cassidy), a young kid in rural Ireland who, according to her parents, had gone months without food. But Lib soon realizes that there is more to Anna’s fasting than the community is aware of.

The Wonder is based on the 2016 book of the same name

An adaptation of Irish author Emma Donoghue’s The Wonder, a finalist for the Kerry Group Book of the Year and the Scotiabank Giller Prize, will be released on Netflix.

The summary of the book was inspired by a number of pre-adolescent females who are known to have fasted (lived for an extended period of time without food or nourishment) throughout history.

More than 40 languages have been used to translate the works of novelist, literary historian, dramatist, and screenwriter Emma Donoghue.

She received a nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 88th Academy Awards for her screenplay for the Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay-starring version of her Booker Prize-nominated novel Room.

Information on the supporting cast of The Wonder

In the trailer for the upcoming movie, Lib Wright is summoned to an Irish town and given the assignment of researching Anna by the town’s councilmen.

Lib immediately discovers what the locals think of Anna while also trying to learn about their traditions. As time goes on, things start to get fascinating, and the rest of the story depends on whether or not the latter can figure out the mystery behind Anna’s fast.

The movie, starring Florence Pugh and directed by A Fantastic Woman director Sebastián Lelio Watt, is rated R for its use of strong language, unsettling visuals, and some sexually explicit scenes.

On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 3 a.m. ET or midnight PT, The Wonder will be exclusively available on Netflix. Central Time Zone viewers may start watching at two in the morning.
