We mourn the life of Patrick Torrey, a brilliant young man from Pekin, Illinois, with sorrowful hearts. In Davenport, Iowa, on November 19, 2022, his life was sadly cut short. He was just twenty-two.
It is still unclear what caused Patrick Torrey to pass away, leaving his friends, family, and community in despair. He will be sadly lost, but his memory will always be treasured.
Patrick’s life was characterized by accomplishments and a genuine desire to assist others.
He started his schooling at St. Joseph’s Catholic School, where he won the Pekin Elk Student of the Year award in 2015.
He continued his education in Cumberland, Maryland’s Bel Air Elementary, where he made friends for the rest of his life.
2019 saw Patrick graduate from Pekin Community High with a high school diploma. He was an engaged learner recognized for his efforts with a Community Service Award and admission into the National Honor Society.
Andrew “Eddie” Ford Scholarships and PCHS further recognized his commitment to academics and community service.
Patrick loved basketball, and he played for PCHS as well as the Illinois Irish Summer League.
He studied psychology at St. Ambrose University to fulfill his ambition of becoming a child therapist.
He worked with kids in Pekin Park during the summers and got a lot of satisfaction from it.
Patrick maintained his high standards at St. Ambrose University. He was awarded many scholarships, both academic and sports-related. Wearing the number 40 jersey, he was a proud member of the college basketball team.
Patrick was referred to as “bro” by his colleagues at many places of employment because of his knowledge and friendliness. He was well-known for his beaming grin and his willingness to assist constantly.

The loss of Patrick Torrey has left his devoted family grieving deeply. Tadd and Patricia Torrey, his parents, are now dealing with the unfathomable loss of their cherished son.
His beloved grandson’s absence has also had a profound impact on his grandparents, Fred and Marla Torrey.
Christy and Olivia, Patrick’s sisters, are now coping with the loss of their beloved brother.
Family get-togethers were made happier and cozier by his presence, therefore his loss is deeply regretted.
Over the last two years, Patrick has found love and friendship in Eliza Dzurisin.
She found joy and comfort in their relationship, and the loss of Patrick has also left a huge hole in her life.
The death of a young man whose generosity, knowledge, and brilliant smile impacted the lives of everyone he met is mourned by the Torrey family as well as their extended relatives and friends.
Patrick’s love and positive impact will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his memory will always be treasured.
