Huerta is joined by Letitia Wright as Shuri, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoya, Angela Bassett as Queen Ramonda, Winston Duke as M’baku, and Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Iron Heart in returning to the next MCU sequel.

Following King T’Challa’s passing, Wakanda Forever will focus mostly on the country’s leaders as they work to defend their kingdom from encroaching foreign forces. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler, who also authored the script with Joe Robert Cole. Among the producers are Nate Moore and Kevin Feige. Tenoch Huerta’s role in Wakanda Forever is described in more detail here.

Namor will be portrayed by Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

In Ecatepec, Mexico, Tenoch Huerta was born on January 29, 1981, to an indigenous family. His film-enthusiast father signed him up for an acting lesson, and he later studied under Carlos Torres Torrija and Luis Felipe Tovar.

Huerta made his acting debut in the 2006 movie Asi del Precipicio as a minor character. Later the same year, he played Li’l Mago, the leader of the infamous Mara Salvatrucha gang’s Tapachula faction, in Cary Joji Fukunaga’s movie Sin Nombre. He portrayed Alejo in the 2015 release Camino and Carlos Mamami in the biographical tragedy The 33.

On Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico, the actor made his acting debut in 2018 as Rafael Caro Quintero. Together with fellow actor Alejandro Edda from Narcos: Mexico, he played Juan in The Forever Purge, the fifth installment of The Purge series.

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Huerta reportedly joined the cast of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. He is going to play Namor the Sub-Mariner in the upcoming movie. He also provided a statement in Spanish while describing his viewpoint, saying,

“I’m ecstatic to be here. It’s an honor. I’d like to quickly address inclusion by saying that it is inclusion that brought me here. If I wasn’t included, I wouldn’t be present. And a lot of kids are grinning and looking at us because we’re there. By the way, Namor is amazing!”

Tenoch Huerta’s character Namor, an anti-hero, appears in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Namor, the first mutant iteration of the underground submariner in live-action, will be portrayed by Tenoch Huerta. While maintaining Namor’s designation as a mutant, which is consistent with Namor’s comic book origin, Huerta listed a few differences between Namor’s characterization in Wakanda Forever and his comic book counterpart.

Namor rules over Atlantis in the comics, while he controls Talocan in the movie, where he is “inspired by the culture and history of Mesoamerica.” This is the major difference between the two characters. According to reports, Huerta observed that the character’s past had been completely altered.

“You can either modify Atlantis from a real civilization or take it from the Greek tale.”

Despite existing since 1939, Namor the Sub-Mariner has never been included in a live-action movie. According to the teaser displayed at the comic expo, Wakanda is currently engaged in two wars: one for Vibranium and one against Namor, following the murder of the noble King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman).

Additionally, the trailer showed a huge wave crashing over Wakanda’s throne, and given that Namor is a submariner, it is quite likely that he is the only one capable of accomplishing such a feat. In the upcoming movie, Namor will be the ruler of Talocan, a country that is now suffering as a result of T’Challa’s choice to open Wakanda to the rest of the world. Tenoch Huerta continued,

“This choice puts Talocan in danger. Talocan must also take action to protect themselves.
