Australian jockey Terry Lucas was well-known. The Australian jockey amassed more than 1,500 victories worldwide during the course of his riding career.
Ivan Allan, a trainer from Malaysia and Singapore, was responsible for several of his triumphs. Terrence George Lucas was born in Brisbane, Queensland, on July 1, 1950.
He departed in 1975 to ride in Singapore after completing his apprenticeship there and stayed there for four years.
Terry made his first trip to Britain in 1979. He teamed up with Easterby, and that year, he rode eleven wins. He came back in 1980 and 1981, winning 26 games in the last campaign.
On Amyndas that year, he also assisted Bruce Hobbs of Newmarket in winning the John Smith’s Magnet Cup.
He came back in 1986 and settled in Newmarket. He stayed there for two seasons and helped Michael Jarvis win the Bunbury Cup in 1987 by riding Individualist.
During his tenure in the Southern Hemisphere, he won three Queensland Derbys, two Singapore Derbys, two Singapore Gold Cups, and two Malaysian Derbys.

Terry Lucas, an Australian Flat jockey, went away to his home country at the age of 72, drawing accolades from the Yorkshire racing community.
Social media was quickly swamped with comments and accolades from the jockey’s supporters. The reason for Terry’s demise hasn’t been made public, though.
He rode more than 1,500 victories globally, making him a racing icon in Australia and Britain. However, his connection to the late trainer Mick Easterby was what made him most well-known to local gamblers.
From 1979 to 2010, when Lucas went back to his home in Australia, they collaborated.
Everyone was horrified by the jockey’s passing, and the internet is now swamped with temples dedicated to her memory. Her family has also received sympathy messages from a few well-known celebrities.
Easterby spoke about how he referred to Lucas as “God” because of his riding prowess in an online article. The Yorkshire trainer said,
“He’d ride out in the morning and then be off to the races.”
The jockey in question was easily among the greatest I’ve ever seen, and he worked ceaselessly. I used to tell folks that God was on my side. God, I spoke to him in that way.
Although he exuded calm and kindness, Lucas had a characteristic that was difficult to describe, and he always had time for everyone who reached out to him.
Terry Lucas’s Family Laments His Death
The racing world is in mourning following the demise of veteran rider Terry Lucas at the age of 72.
The jockey’s funeral plans, however, remain confidential since the family appreciates their privacy during such a difficult time.
However, we may anticipate that the funeral would be held in his Brisbane home by the family. Most likely, Terry will be cremated in the nearby crematorium.
His family, friends, and the community will draw comfort from recalling the beautiful life the jockey led as they cope with this loss.
He traveled back and forth between the hemispheres for several years. He did spent the winters of 1998 and 1999 in Britain, but the country’s extreme cold turned him off.
While training with Mick Easterby, he formed a close relationship with Dee Pee Tee Cee and won eight races riding him. He achieved four victories while riding Hasta La Vista, another dependable Easterby mount.
On October 16, 2004, one of Terry’s last rides, Dee Pee Tee Cee, took place in Yarmouth. He retired at the end of that season at the age of 54, although he continued to serve as a traveling head groom for Easterby.
In January 2010, Terry made his last flight out of the United Kingdom and returned to his native Australia to be with his kids and hunt for a racing career.
