Terence Frederick Venables, a former English football player and manager who also served as a musician, is known by the moniker El Tel.

Venables won the Second Division championship in 1979 while serving as the head coach of the English team Crystal Palace.

No player has ever been able to duplicate Venables’ record since the amateur squad was abolished in 1974. Venables was the only footballer to play for England as a schoolboy, youth, amateur, Under-23, and for the main international team in addition to earning two international caps.

Alf Ramsey put him on the list of 33 “possibles” for the 1966 FIFA World Cup after he earned two caps in 1964, a 2-2 tie with Belgium and a 1-1 draw with the Netherlands, but he didn’t make the final roster of 22 players.

It investigated claims that a former player and manager of a football team had obtained £1 million through a “sale and leaseback” deal based on assets he did not own.

The letter that Panorama displayed on air was a mockup and not the actual thing, but Panorama failed to disclose this to viewers. It was intended to represent the home that Venables had given Landhurst Leasing as collateral for a £1 million loan.

Despite not being an authentic document, a source informed the Mail that the information in the image was “100% accurate.” They said that the reconstruction had been given permission to use by the BBC for the documentary crew.

Venables did not contest getting a loan, but he argued that it was not a “sale and leaseback” deal involving land that he did not own, despite what the program suggested.
