Dorrell, a former Arkansas volleyball player, has joined the football staff to help with player eligibility and recruitment.
No one could have predicted then just how significant this incident would become.
On the evening of April 1 (local time), 23 miles outside of town, a motorcycle accident left Bobby Petrino with injuries.
Petrino is admitted to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that are “not life-threatening” and to spend the night.
A statement regarding the incident is issued by the University of Arkansas. No other people were involved in the incident.
Petrino says the sun in his eyes was the last thing he remembers before the crash, and that he was not wearing a helmet at the time.
Issues Surrounding Bobby Petrino
The story took on a whole new dimension when we learned that both Petrino and Jessica Dorrell were riding motorcycles at the time of the accident.
Rallying on campus, Petrino’s supporters voice their approval of the coach’s status.
The news conference where Athletic Director Jeff Long will announce Petrino’s dismissal “with reason” has been set for 7:15 p.m. local time.
Petrino delivers a statement shortly afterward in which he defends his decisions and behavior.

He is now the offensive coordinator for the Texas A&M Aggies. He was the previous head coach of the Missouri State Bears.
Before this, he was the head coach of the Louisville Cardinals football team from 2014 until the middle of the 2018 season, when he was fired.
He had previously held the role from 2003 to 2006. From 2008 through 2011, Petrino led the Arkansas Razorbacks as their head football coach.
He was let go from that position in the spring of 2012 because he had been having an extramarital affair with a member of the football department’s personnel.
Also, before to taking over as head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks in 2008, Petrino led the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons for the first 13 games of the 2007 season.
