Due to his character arc, acting prowess, and Doja Cat, rising star Joseph Quinn, who played Eddie Munson, appeared to have captured everyone’s attention out of all the new actors.
On May 27, 2022, the highly anticipated second season of the popular Stranger Things Netflix series debuted. Like in prior seasons, new cast members were presented to the audience.
Joseph Quinn is fine as an expletive, Doja tweeted just days after the fourth season’s start.
She appeared to be supported by the internet. Many people retweeted Quinn’s tweet and shared videos of her playing Munson.
But it soon became clear that the singer had more than simply admiration for Quinn. She begged Noah Schnapp, who played Quinn’s co-star, to introduce her to Quinn.
And Schnapp released her texts online, letting internet users know how she felt. Unfortunately, the ‘Get Into It’ singer started a spat with Schnapp because he wasn’t impressed.
Schnapp, 17, tweeted a screenshot of a private text message exchange between him and Doja in a since-deleted TikTok video, which sparked the incident.
The singer requested that Noah tell Joseph to “hmu” (call me) in the messages. Does he have a girlfriend, wait, no?
Doja replied that she didn’t know Quinn’s Instagram or Twitter account and wasn’t sure if he even had a DM to slide into when Schnapp advised her to “slip into his DMs.” Quinn previously disclosed that he was not very active on social media and that his friend was in charge of his Instagram.
The Stranger Things actor emailed her Quinn’s Instagram and said, “Right here ma’am,” playing up to his wingman position.
After their chat went viral, Doja was unable to ignore Schnapp’s reshares and called him out on Instagram live. She tried to be calm as she began the stream, but towards the end, things had heated up.

She remarked that while she had assumed Schnapp would be cool about the entire situation, she was astonished and uneasy when he revealed their communications. She also agreed that Schnapp was a child and that mistakes were common among kids.

While some fans supported the artist, many expressed displeasure that she asked a kid for matchmaking assistance.
By asking him (he’s 17, she’s 26) to hook her up with someone she could have easily found on Instagram in 5 seconds, one commenter suggested that she is incredibly socially inept.

Unsurprisingly, a sizable number of fans were upset with Doja and didn’t hold back with their criticism. Amid the criticism, Doja seemed to react to the animosity.
She tweeted on July 8, 2022, “y’all are so cringed and lame and nobody wants to hang w u that’s why y’all be on here unironically writing replies to s*** that makes you mad,” possibly addressing Schnapp’s supporters.
But for some reason, her response backfired, and, according to Socialblade, she lost roughly 200,000 Instagram followers.

Doja Cat continued to be the target of criticism, but on July 13, Schnapp finally spoke out about the altercation in a TikTok video.
He captioned the video where he could be seen practicing arithmetic, “Guys everything is all nice.” Then he explained what was going on and said he had apologized to Doja. No hard feelings, he continued, “I still love her music and follow her.”
He even included Doja’s “Kiss Me More” in the video, perhaps to demonstrate that he had no animosity toward her. As of the time of this writing, Doja has not yet confirmed that there is no animosity between them.
