Jahdatta(Yugge Farrell)  wants to make a comeback. She first gained notoriety when she was named one of the runners-up in Caribbean’s Next Top Model’s 2015 season, but she quickly faded from view after that. In 2019, Farrell put out a few songs, and she recently tweeted that a mixtape is on the way.

After one of Jahdatta’s videos went viral, people started to pay attention to her tale on social media. One Twitter user published a thread detailing the struggles Jahdatta faced in 2018. The international community was made aware of her trial in early 2018

Jahdatta was charged with insulting the Finance Minister’s wife and appeared in court in the early months of 2018. She entered a not guilty plea to the charges, but the court wasn’t persuaded that she was competent to enter a plea.

The prosecution requested that Jahdatta undergo a psychiatric evaluation before returning to court to enter a plea, and the judge granted their request. Although it was within the prosecution’s rights to submit such a request, it was unusual for it to do so without any supporting documentation.

The judge allowed it despite the attorney for Jahdatta’s vociferous objections. Jahdatta posted a series of videos on Instagram the day after the court’s ruling in which she discussed her profession and a claimed relationship with Finance Minister Camillo Gonsalves.

She said that Camillo and her relationship wasn’t about love

She said that Camillo and her relationship wasn’t about love and that it ended in 2016 as a result of a sexual request she felt uncomfortable fulfilling. Jahdatta’s evaluation lasted for two weeks, and when it was over, she returned to court with a deteriorating mental state.

During the court proceedings, she shouted out while her arms were flapping. Jahdatta reportedly took three doses of antipsychotic medication against the advice of her attorney.

Jahdatta was ordered to undergo evaluation rather than therapy, according to the judge’s findings. The employees at the mental health facility disregarded the court order by administering a dose of medication.

When the judge ruled that Jahdatta had to spend a week back in the mental institution, Jahdatta sobbed in agony and shock. The local and global communities expressed their sympathy for her and blamed her plight on the disparity in power between Jahdatta and her accusers. MP Daniel Cummings said the following in an interview with iWitness:

“This occurrence speaks to so many wrongs in our society, such as the incapacity of common people to access the justice system’s fairness and receive equal treatment across the board, as opposed to treatment reserved for royalty and peasants. It makes it abundantly evident that those in positions of power believe they are exempt from the law and are free to act however they like.

Jahdatta’s involvement with Minister Camillo was known to her parents

In her videos, Jahdatta claimed that she had been dating Minister Camillo since 2013. Gailene, Jahdatta’s mother, claims that when Farrell began conversing with the preacher, she saw a chance to live a better life.

She admitted to iWitness that she didn’t see her daughter for three years after the relationship started in 2013. Jahdatta was safe with the minister, so Gailene didn’t make an effort to find her.

Gailene was reassured by Calvert, Jahdatta’s father, that Farrell resided with Camillo and was therefore safe. Even boasting that Camillo was his son-in-law, Calvert.

Gailene claimed that she discussed Camillo and Jahdatta with Camillo’s father, Prime Minister Ralph Gonzalez after their relationship ended. She even provided him with a witness who attested to their friendship.

Jahdatta’s accusations hurt Camillo Gonsalves’ reputation, and it’s thought that the authorities committed her to a mental facility to discredit her. Farrell allegedly threatened the Prime Minister’s family in extortion letters, according to the Prime Minister. Jahdatta denied the accusations and insisted that she had no animosity against anyone.

The abuse of power was felt by Jahdatta’s parents as well after they were charged with attempted murder and arson. According to the prosecution, Calvert and Gailene burned private property worth $10,000 on fire and injured the owner with a cutlass as he sought to flee.

After two years, the Finance Minister refuted Jahdatta’s claims

After three weeks in the psychiatric hospital, Jahdatta was eventually given bail, but the harm had already been done. In December 2018, the court dismissed Jahdatta’s accusation. As the drama played out, the prime minister instructed his son to keep quiet. Finally, Minister Camillo addressed the issue in a February 2020 interview with ANN.

Farrell’s charges, according to Camillo, were untrue. He declared:

“It’s kind of you to ask since not many journalists do, and when they do, they run all over the place with different answers, but I won’t answer that. Many accusations were made that were blatantly incorrect on their face, therefore it was upsetting to see how many people ran with them.
