The third part of the fan-favorite adventure series Floor is Lava will premiere on Netflix on September 30 at 3:01 a.m. Eastern Time. Rutledge Wood will reprise his role as host for the upcoming season, which will feature two-person teams racing to the peak of a gigantic, lava-covered mountain in each episode.
The physical impediments placed along the path will make their search considerably more difficult. Season 3 of Floor is Lava will consist of five episodes with a total of fifteen contestants. In each 30-minute episode, two-person teams will be tasked with climbing a lava mountain constructed within the studio. The winning team will get a prize of $10,000 in cash.
Arthur Smith, Anthony Carbone, Frank Sinton, Anthony Storm, Brian Smith, Caroline Baumgard, Irad Eyal, and Megan McGrath are the show’s executive producers.

The Netflix YouTube account has published a teaser for season 3 along with a brief plot summary:
“Fifteen courageous new teams vie for $10,000 by racing to the summit of a massive volcano. Who will triumph, and who will lose?”
In accordance with previous seasons, players will traverse an obstacle course in a room containing 80,000 US gallons of a slick, vivid red liquid representing lava that is boiling.
Without falling in, teams must navigate between objects suspended above “lava,” scale a studio-built mountain and reach the exit. A player is eliminated from the game if they fall into the lava.
Their teammate, however, is authorized to continue and attempt to complete the race. Rutledge Wood catches the mood of the game beautifully in the trailer.
“A new season of Floor Is Lava will air. What regarding the lava? Hotter. The big volcano? Hotter. Who is hosting? Still really warm.”
