Three people required medical attention while a real-life Squid Game episode was being filmed, but Netflix claimed that “reports of serious injuries are unfounded.”
At Cardington Studios in Bedfordshire, the game show that is based on the popular South Korean series is being produced.
Three people received treatment for “minor medical issues,” according to the streaming juggernaut.
Netflix stated,
“We genuinely care about the health and safety of our cast and staff.”
456 participants compete on the show for a $4.56 million (£3.8 million) prize. A Netflix spokeswoman said that there was always medical personnel on the site and that the company had “invested in all the necessary safety protocols.”
“Any accusations of significant harm are incorrect,” he added, adding that it was really chilly on the set and that participants were prepared for it.
In the suspenseful television series, debt-ridden players engaged in a dangerous sequence of perverted kiddie games for the chance to win a large sum of money.
In the first 28 days after its release, 111 million individuals streamed it, making it the most-watched show on Netflix ever. In June, a second season was revealed.
The same month, Squid Game: The Challenge, a 10-episode competition series with the “biggest cast and lump sum cash reward in reality TV history,” was also announced by Netflix.
The competitors, who have come to Bedfordshire from all over the world, play in a series of games modeled after the original program.
Vice president of documentary and unscripted programs at Netflix, Brandon Riegg, said the following at the time of the announcement: “The engaging narrative and iconic images of Director Hwang’s Squid Game captivated audiences everywhere.
“We appreciate his assistance as we recreate the fictitious universe in this enormous competition and social experiment.
Fans of the drama series are in for a thrilling and unpredictable adventure as 456 real-world candidates make their way through the largest competition series ever, which is filled with tension and twists.
According to the East of England Ambulance Service, it hasn’t responded to any calls at the studios lately.
