Tim Bachman, 71, a member of Brave Belt and Bachman-Turner Overdrive, died on April 28, 2023. He died as a result of brain cancer complications.
Bachman’s son, Ryder Bachman, paid tribute to his father on Facebook by posting a black-and-white photo of himself with his father. He stated, ”
“This afternoon, my father died. Thank you all for your kind words. I’m glad I finally got to spend some time with him. Grab your loved ones and hold them close because you never know how much time you have.”
Ryder went on to write about his father, claiming that his father’s final words to him were, “I love you, Paxton, Share the Music.” According to the post, a jam session was also planned at the Fanny Bay Inn Jam. This was followed by another post in which Ryder thanked everyone who came to jam:
“A huge thank you and a big love to everyone who came out to the Fanny Bat Inn Jam this evening and danced, jammed, ate, drank, and showed me some love.” It’s been a trying few days, so I really appreciate it.”
Tim Bachman rose to prominence as a member of Bachman Turner Overdrive, a Canadian rock band
Tim Bachman used to be in a few bands when he was younger, but he eventually got a job. As his brother Randy was looking for a new band member for Brave Belt, he chose to pursue his musical career. Brave Belt was established in 1971. Randy and Tim were joined by Chad Allan, Robbie Bachman, and Fred Turner in the band.
Despite Tim’s participation in the Brave Belt, the company was unable to continue its successful journey and suffered thousands of dollars in losses. Brave Belt has only ever released two albums, Brave Belt and Brave Belt II. Both albums were released by Reprise Records in 1971 and 1972.
Their songs that charted in Canada included Never Coming Home, Another Way Out, Rock and Roll Band, Crazy Arms, Crazy Eyes, and Dunrobin’s Gone. Randy, Robbie, Tim, and Fred Turner formed the Bachman-Turner Overdrive in 1973, while Brave Belt was disbanding. Tim wrote two singles for the band’s first two albums, Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Bachman-Turner Overdrive II, both released in 1973.
The following year, Tim Bachman left the band to spend more time with his family and promote other gigs. However, according to the other members’ claims, he broke many rules and was thus kicked out of the band. He returned in 1984. The band went on hiatus after a few albums in 2005, and although Randy and Fred rejoined in 2009, the latter retired in 2018. Robbie passed away in January 2023. He was 69 years old at the time of his death.
