In 1991, he joined Hall of Fame trainer Charlie Whittingham and worked in California until 1997, when he returned to Bob. After getting experience working with two halls of fame, he decided to open his own stable, Tim Yakteen Racing Stables, in 2004.
The following year, he sent out his first stakes winner, Sabiango, who won the 12-furlong Kentucky Cup Turf Handicap at the Dueling Grounds, now known as Kentucky Downs. He recently took Bob’s role in qualifying some of his residences for the Kentucky Derby. Taiba and Messier finished first and second in the Santa Anita Derby.
