According to Berenger in an interview with The Sun, Bell encouraged him to sign the addendum provided by Alvaran’s attorney without making any changes or offering any suggestions. Before this, the premarital contract limited alimony payments in the case of divorce to a sum of $50,000.
The actor, however, asserted that as a result of the modification, Bell’s alleged legal carelessness cost him more than $100,000. According to the source, Berenger was also asking for punitive damages in addition to compensatory damages.
