Curry began his amateur career with Crewe & Nantwich, where he was coached by both his father and the hometown icon Bobby Walsh. On October 15, 2016, he made his professional debut, becoming the youngest Sale Sharks player and the fourth-youngest English player to do so, against Scarlets in the European Champions Cup.

Eddie Jones elevated Curry to the senior England squad in time for their summer 2017 tour of Argentina. He made his England debut on May 28, 2017, against the Barbarians, and was awarded Man of the Match.
