Llamas began his reporting career in 2000 with the NBC News Specials Unit and eventually went to MSNBC, where he largely covered politics from 2000 to 2005. He then went to work for NBC’s Miami affiliate, WTVJ. In 2009, Llamas moved to New York and began working for WNBC and NBC News as a general assignment reporter. In 2015, Llamas became the Sunday anchor of ABC World News Tonight. In January 2017, he took over as the weekend anchor for the first time.
