Fans were worried when Tony Blackburn didn’t show up on his BBC Radio 2 broadcast today. On Saturdays from 6 to 8 am, the 80-year-old normally broadcasts Sounds of the 60s.
However, Tony, an ex-campmate from I’m a Celebrity, said on March 10th that he will be skipping the event due to illness.
He tweeted that a sickness that was taking a long time to heal would prevent him from hosting any of his events this weekend.
The host continued, “My special “Happy Birthday show” will air tomorrow on Sounds Of The Sixties, and a taped Golden Hour will air on Sunday, March 12th. Have a great weekend.
One fan who raced to wish Tony well wrote: “Tony is working too hard! Be cautious and quick to recover.
Another person replied, “Get well soon, Tony; you’re a special part of our lives.”
