Leah Cohen of Top Chef and her husband Ben Byruch had their second child on March 2, according to a brand-new PEOPLE exclusive. The small boy was given the moniker Baker Scott by the restaurant owners. The name is a tribute to Bill Cohen, who passed away from COVID.
The “Scott” in his name, meanwhile, pays homage to Byruch’s father, Steve, who went by the middle name Scott. In an exclusive photo of herself and her child that PEOPLE had received, Cohen posted on Instagram. She wrote in the post with reference to the child:
“You are a good fit for our home.”

Because of his union with Top Chef alumna Leah Cohen, Ben Byruch is well-known. The couple reportedly got hitched in July 2016. Cohen and Byruch currently have two children.
Additionally, they share ownership of the Filipino-Thai restaurant Pig & Khao as well as the Piggyback Bar in New York City. Byruch is said to be about 40 years old and has extensive experience working in restaurants.
After graduating from high school, he attended Penn State, according to his profile on Pig & Khao’s website. He also has a degree in culinary arts and restaurant management.
Byruch purportedly started his own firm in Philadelphia after earning his undergraduate degree. After that, he was sent to New York, where he and his wife opened the two restaurants described above.
After moving to New York City, Byruch started working for a small investment bank. He gained knowledge about business management and raising capital for start-up businesses here. He also acquired the ability to bargain with potential investors in the business.
He worked as a sous chef at Pig & Khao, according to his profile on the restaurant’s website. Later, he added new responsibilities to his plate, such as Manager of Operations. As stated in the bio:
Ben’s current responsibilities include overseeing all facets of Pig and Khao’s ongoing business operations.
Little is known about the boyhood and early years of Leah Cohen’s spouse before he became a restaurant owner. According to various stories, Byruch was a former sales manager for a wholesale meat company owned by his father and grandfather.
