The 37-year-old member of the Track and Field squad also participated in football for the Pittsburgh State Gorillas. After graduating, Armbruster began working as a personal trainer, and it was during this time that he was selected to the 2009 U.S. bobsled team.
In 2009 and 2010, Armbruster raced for the United States and even participated in Olympic training 2010. In 2010, he won two medals at the North American Cup, one of his most remarkable feats in this sport.
