Tuesday morning at a Tulsa library, a guy shot someone in the back of the head as he approached him from behind. He then shot another man in the same spot at a nearby convenience store, killing both of them, according to police.
The shooter, subsequently identified by officials as Carlton Jefferson Gilford, 61, is accused of opening fire on unidentified individuals inside the Rudisill Regional Library and the QuikTrip at 1513 N. Peoria Ave.
He was detained outside the QuikTrip and, according to the police, admitted to killing both people to the responding policemen.
According to authorities, the victim was shot while sitting at a desk in the library and taken to a hospital in critical condition not long after police officers and ambulance personnel arrived on the scene at 9:40 a.m.
They announced on social media that the victim had died away in the hospital around 5:15 p.m. The victim of the gunshot at the convenience store, however, was pronounced dead right away.
