According to his brother, US R&B artist B. Smyth passed away at the age of 28 from respiratory failure. According to a video their older brother Denzil put on Instagram, the musician had pulmonary fibrosis.

He remarked, “My brother lost his battle with his lung illness earlier this morning.

Before signing with Motown Records and recording music with 2Chainz and Future, B. Smyth started his career by uploading covers to YouTube.

He continued by saying that his brother had “never thought” of having to deliver such bad news.

Breathing becomes more challenging as a result of the scarring of the lungs caused by pulmonary fibrosis. It is uncommon in those under 50, but there is no known reason.

The Florida-born musician, Brandon Smith, first achieved popularity by uploading covers of songs by Michael Jackson and Frank Ocean.

B. Smyth signed a record deal with Motown in 2012, and a year later his debut single, Leggo featuring 2Chainz, was made available.

In addition, he released music with Young Thug and Rick Ross and worked with Future on his 2013 hit single Win-Win.

His most well-known songs include Twerkoholic, a 2014 release that has received 20 million YouTube views and 13 million Spotify streams. While he was in the hospital, the follow-up, Twerkoholic Part 2, was released last month.

In a post on Instagram, Smyth’s brother made a reference to the song, writing: “My brother was really happy to see a lot of you make challenges for his latest tune while he was in the ICU – it really gave a smile to his face.”

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to B. Smyth’s supporters, saying in the video that went along with it: “He wanted me to make this film to demonstrate how much he appreciates what you did for him.

“B. Smyth truly felt all the love and joy you were sharing on social media with him.”

Online tributes were made. B. Smyth’s current track, “Roadrunnin’,” was co-written by rapper Dirty 1000 and features B. Smyth. Dirty 1000 tweeted, “My condolences to your family and everyone you graced with your lovely voice and incredible artistry.”

B. Smyth was also described as “such a talented young brother” by DJ and rapper Mad Skillz.
