Aerosmith, an American rock ‘n’ roll band, has announced a farewell tour to commemorate more than five decades together. Dream On, Walk This Way, and I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing are some of the band’s most famous songs.
On Monday, they announced the “earth-shattering” news in a video featuring celebrities such as Sir Ringo Starr, Dolly Parton, and Eminem.
They issued a joint statement stating,
“It’s not goodbye, it’s peace out!”
“Get ready, because you’re about to witness the greatest performance of our lives.”
The 40-date North American tour will commence in Philadelphia on 2 September 2023 and conclude in Montreal on 26 January 2024, via a New Year’s Eve performance in their hometown of Boston.
However, no UK/European tour dates have yet been announced.
“It is time”
“I think it’s about time,” the 72-year-old guitarist Joe Perry told the Associated Press.
“It’s an opportunity to commemorate the 50 years we’ve spent here. You never know how long everyone will be healthy enough to do this.”
“It has been quite some time since we last went on a genuine tour. This performance in Las Vegas was fantastic,” he added.
“It was enjoyable, but we’re eager to get back on the road.”
Last year, the band canceled a portion of their Las Vegas residency after their ostentatious lead singer entered rehab.
Tyler, 75, said in a statement to the AP about the upcoming farewell tour,
“We’re opening Pandora’s Box one last time to give our supporters the Peace Out tour.
“Be there or be afraid, because we’re bringing all the toys down from the attic.” “Be prepared”
1970 saw the formation of Aerosmith in Boston, Massachusetts; the band went on to sell 150 million recordings worldwide and win four Grammys.
In 2001, the same year they performed at the Super Bowl halftime performance, the band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They were also known for their hedonistic, wild lifestyles.
