Van Jones and his close friend Noemi Zamacona have recently given birth to a daughter. According to the political analyst, the couple decided to become “conscious co-parents” and “join forces” in order to have a child. Jones discussed his unconventional parenting plans with TMZ and voiced his hope that others may follow suit in the future.
After the COVID quarantine, I realized I desired another child. I discovered that my friend Noemi also desired a child. As a result, we chose to become conscientious co-parents. I wish more people would examine and explore this idea.”
The Emmy-winning actor also expressed “gratitude” for the birth of a girl and divulged that he and Zamacona would co-parent the child.
We brought a baby girl into the world last month and will raise her as co-parents. This is an incredible time for our family. “I am grateful, happy, and blessed.”
Van Jones and his ex-wife Jana Carter, the niece of former United States President Jimmy Carter, have two further children. The pair wed in 2005 and have two children together, Mattai and Cabral. However, in 2019, following 14 years of marriage, they decided to split.
After the birth of his daughter, sources close to Jones confirmed to TMZ that he does not have a romantic relationship with Zamacona. According to sources, the couple has a “modern arrangement” and plans to jointly raise a child as a “team.”

Noemi Zamacona is a Monitor for the Inspector General’s Office of Los Angeles County. She is responsible for overseeing prison conditions at one of the largest correctional systems in the United States.
According to her LinkedIn page, Zamacona has spent the past 12 years assisting individuals “damaged by the dysfunctional court system.” She was allegedly born in Zacatecas, Mexico, and raised in the city of La Puente, California.
At the University of California, Zamacona obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. After working as a Group Supervisor for the Santa Cruz County Probation Department in a juvenile detention center when she was a college student, she gained experience in custodial care.
She once worked as a Death Mitigation Specialist for the Public Defender’s Office of Riverside County. Zamacona also served as a Criminal Defense Investigator for the public defender’s office in Santa Cruz, Biggam Christensen & Minsloff.
As part of her job, she conducted research on a variety of heinous criminal instances on behalf of needy people in need. Noemi Zamacona recently made headlines when it was revealed that she shares parental responsibilities with CNN journalist and longtime friend Van Jones.
According to TMZ, Jones and Zamacona became friends years ago owing to their shared interest in criminal justice activism.
They just decided to conceive a child jointly and have since been responsible co-parents. This week, Noemi Zamacona gave birth to a baby girl, whom she will raise alongside Van Jones in the following days.
