Singer and actress Vicky Wright has passed away at the age of 63, according to her daughter. Wednesday morning, Kelly Wright-Warhust tweeted that her “wonderful mother” had passed away.

“I wanted to use this forum to inform you all because I know how much she valued your love and support in so many ways,” she added.

Last year, Vicky Wright, the fiancée of comedian Bobby Davro, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

She was the daughter of former Wolverhampton Wanderers footballer Billy Wright and The Beverley Sisters member Joy.

Billy Wright, who was born in Ironbridge, Shropshire, spent his entire footballing career with Wolves and was the first player in the world to achieve 100 international caps. In 1994, he succumbed to pancreatic cancer.

Ms. Wright had previously performed The Billy Wright Story, a one-woman show about her father’s football career, on the stage.

Following the announcement on Wednesday evening, tributes have flooded in, with Wolverhampton-born singer Beverley Knight describing Ms. Wright as a “gem” on Twitter.

“Sending love and healing,” she continued.

Nick Owen, presenter for BBC Midlands Today, tweeted,

“Oh no, devastating news. I had known Vicky for over four decades and thoroughly enjoyed her company.

“Her dad Billy gave me my first job in television.”

“I feel terribly sad tonight – my thoughts are with all the family,” he added.
