Violent J’s attempts to reduce weight have resulted in a noticeable change in his physical appearance over time. The rapper lost weight due to severe knee issues made worse by fat.
In front of an audience of loyal Juggalos, he openly discussed the depth of his suffering even if he withheld the specific cause of his cardiac ailment. When Violent J described his trip, he talked about how he became out of breath traveling the 40 yards or so to his studio from his house. Fearing the worst, he went to the doctor and had an ultrasound, during which the doctor’s expression suggested that there were concerning results.
After many appointments, he was told he had heart failure, which shocked him to no end. Violent J underwent several therapies for atrial fibrillation—a disorder in which the heart’s upper chambers beat irregularly—to recover.
