Frank American football coach Michael Reich, often referred to as Frank Reich, is a professional coach. Most recently, he was the head coach of the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League. Prior to joining the Panthers in January 2023, he spent around five years as the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.

For more than ten years, Frank Reich was a quarterback in the National Football League for many clubs. The Buffalo Bills selected him in the third round of the 1985 NFL Draft, marking the beginning of his NFL career. Frank played basketball, football, and baseball in high school.

He was born in Free Port, New York. He played collegiate football at the University of Maryland as Boomer Esiason’s backup quarterback after graduating from Cedar Crest High School. Esiason would go on to become a star in the NFL. For most of his playing career, NFL teams used Reich as a backup quarterback.

He was a member of the Bills for nearly ten years, but he never saw action until 1989, when a shoulder ailment kept starting quarterback Jim Kelly out of the game. He played for three additional teams in 1994 after the Bills dismissed him: the Detroit Lions, the Carolina Panthers, and the New York Jets. Reich departed the NFL after the 1998 campaign. In 2014, renowned football executive Bill Polian called him the greatest quarterback in NFL history.
