How Was Truly Young Named?
Truly was born in California on August 8, 2001. She said in an interview that the CEO of Aftermaths Entertainment liked the name “Truly,” and that it was her famous father who gave it to her.
The University of Southern California is where the Gen-Z starlet Truly Young studies. She was accepted in May 2019 to USC’s prestigious School of the Cinematic Arts.
Her father, Dr. Dre, generated a lot of controversy the year she was admitted to the university. Truly’s father revealed his daughter had been accepted to the university in a tweet with the caption, “all on her own. No jail time!!!”
Beats Electronics’ founder was bringing up Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman, who was arrested in March 2019 for reportedly paying bribes to have their daughters accepted into colleges.
However, following rumors claimed that Dr. Dre and fellow music mogul Jimmy Iovine had also given the institution $70 million in 2013.
On the other hand, Truly refuted the allegations and claimed that her well-known father had always ‘pushed me to go to USC.’
She stated in an interview that her parents placed a requirement on her to maintain good grades or face financial repercussions.
She reportedly isn’t getting any preferential treatment at USC either. According to reports, Truly and her siblings described Andre as a “very, very strict parent.” He supposedly participated in every aspect of her life as well. The former president of Death Row Records homeschooled his teenage daughter, Truly. Additionally, she excelled academically at those times.
The Grammy-winning artist had first gone down the aisle with her mother. Truly and her brother Truice were born to Dre and Nicole together.
Dr. Dre and Nicole Young, who are the parents of Truly Young, wed in 1996 and formally divorced in December 2021.
Nicole, who is not very active on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, was formerly married to NBA player Sedale Threatt.
After 24 years of marriage, Nicole, Truly’s mother, reportedly filed for divorce from the music mogul in June 2020, according to The Blast.
Soon later, the divorce became contentious when Dr. Dre accused Nicole of stealing money from the company, and the rapper’s ex-wife also accused him of infidelity.
Dr. Dre agreed to give his ex-wife Nicola Young a staggering $100 million as part of their divorce settlement in December 2021.
After 50 Cent remarked the divorce of her parents in September 2020, Truly ripped him to shreds on social media.
A screenshot of an article mentioning Nicole’s $2 million monthly support demand in their divorce was posted by Curtis James Jackson III.
Truly at the other end replied to the In da Club singer’s remark regarding her mother by writing,
The blatant misogyny and disrespect against women that are being displayed by stupid guys are abhorrently repulsive and horrible. It is unacceptable to refer to my mother, my dad’s wife, as a “bitch.”
She further pointed out that 50 Cent’s remarks on the divorce of her parents were part of one of his deplorable and despicable marketing ploys.
The youngest of Dr. Dre’s nine children—one of whom has since died away—is Tru. She does have a brother named Truice. His birth year is 1997.
Truly has a biological brother and four half-siblings, all from her father’s past relationships with various women, in addition to her brother.
Her other half-brother, Andre Young, who passed away in 2008, is noteworthy. According to People, Andre overdosed unintentionally and died in 2008 at the age of 20.
Exactly Who Are Young Siblings?
The living step-siblings are Curtis, La Tanya, and her two less well-known sisters, as well as Marcel. Dr. Dre’s first child, Curtis, was born when he was barely a teenager and was the product of his relationship with Cassandra Joy Greene.
In 1983, he had La Tanya with Lisa Johnson, a different girlfriend. The Mechanic had two more daughters with Johnson in addition to La Tanya.
Dr. Dre then had two sons with Jenita Porter: Andre Young was born in 1988, and Marcel was born to Michelle Toussaint in 1991. She also shares a half-sister with Tyra Young.
