What Happened To Bethenny Frankel? POTS Syndrome And Health Update

Bethenny Frankel

Bethenny Frankel recently shared an Instagram video about her health issues, including her battles with POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). The caption of the video reads:

“Some people have mentioned that my face has changed in recent recordings, so here’s why.”

Frankel stated that she was distended and enlarged and that her weight had increased by about 4 pounds in three days due to her body “desperately holding on to any fluids it could.” She described POTS as an auto-immune disease that has worsened as a result of Covid-19. Bethenny Frankel stated that she knows many people who have the same disease and that it is a condition she can handle. She continued, saying:

“I have chronic extreme depletion. I’ve always had extremely low blood pressure and exhaustion, but it’s gotten significantly worse. I try hard to stay hydrated, get IVs, and haven’t had alcohol in 6 months. I’m basically on the job.”

Bethenny Frankel went on to say that the arid environment has exacerbated her situation. She concluded by saying that when people comment on a person’s outward appearance, they are unaware of what the person is going through individually, physiologically, and emotionally.

POTS: Symptoms, Causes, and Treatment

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome is defined by the Cleveland Clinic as a disease in which the pulse beats faster than usual when a person rests, lays down, or rises. POTS cases differ from one another, and symptoms may worsen or improve in the coming years. POTS is most common in women aged 15 to 50.

It is also possible for men to get it during delivery. If a person has had another type of disease for a long time, he or she may be diagnosed with POTS. Pregnant women are more likely to get it, and bodily injuries or treatment may also play a role. Anyone diagnosed with POTS is more likely to have blood pool in vessels beneath the heart as they stand. The body produces more norepinephrine or adrenaline, which constricts blood vessels.

Because the blood vessels do not respond to the hormones, the pulse rate increases, resulting in vertigo, syncope, and fatigue. POTS symptoms include dizziness, fainting, difficulty concentrating, heart palpitations, exhaustion or fatigue, nervousness, excessive sweating, difficulty breathing, chest pain, headache, bloating, and disrupted sleep due to chest pain, racing heart rate, and excessive sweating during sleep.

Although there is no cure for POTS, exercise, physical exertion, and eating a healthy diet can help to alleviate symptoms to some extent. Fludrocortisone, pyridostigmine, midodrine, and beta-blockers are also available.

Bethenny Frankel is enjoying her life despite her health issues

Bethenny Frankel’s POTS condition has caused her numerous complications, but she is still having a good time. She recently shared a photo of herself beaming and writing that while living in the highlands has caused her many health issues, she is grateful to be able to live in such a beautiful location and pursue her interests. According to Frankel:

“The struggle with health is real, but the thrill of the journey almost makes it worthwhile. Prioritizing health and exercise is essential as we strive to be the best versions of ourselves for our children and families.”

Bethenny Frankel is best known for her roles on The Real Housewives of New York City, but she has also appeared on Chelsea Lately, Dancing with the Stars, Million Dollar Listing New York, Bar Rescue, Beat Bobby Flay, and other shows.
