Elvira, In Memoirs of the Mistress of the Dark, Cassandra Peterson has shared details about both her own life and that of her well-known character Elvira. Peterson discusses her love of Vegas, her celebrity boyfriends, and the 20-year secret relationship she’s had with a woman.
Peterson earned fame as Elvira 40 years ago thanks to her seductive gothic appearance and her hosting of Elvira’s Movie Macabre. Since then, Elvira has made countless film and television appearances. Additionally, she appears in video games and comic books.

In addition to hosting a 40th-anniversary program, Elvira will soon be in a new movie.
Elvira will broadcast Elvira’s 40th Anniversary, Very Scary, Very Special, and Special on Shudder to mark her 40th wedding anniversary. Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, Messiah of Evil, and The City of the Dead are among the horror movies she will be offering commentary for.

Elvira had previously mentioned how Shudder and Netflix have turned down an animated project. She said she had put the animation project on hold to concentrate on a live-action movie she had been offered. She informed ComicBook.
“It appeared [on social media] that I had been rejected for every opportunity. untrue They could not have rejected these other projects because I did not present them to them. I sort of put the cartoon project on the back burner since I received a live-action movie opportunity.”
She claims to be working on a third Elvira movie, which fans are pleading for. Before submitting it to Netflix or Shudder, she informed ComicBook that it still need work. Elvira claimed that “an extremely good, top-tier Hollywood production business” was behind her.
Because Netflix and those other channels aren’t in the business of making movies, she explained,
“I’m working with a production firm and, frankly, that’s the way to pitch it.”
Their line of work is purchasing them. I am employed by this producing firm for that reason.
But Elvira decided to put the animation production on hold after learning about the coronavirus pandemic. She admitted to Toofab that she could have outgrown the notion of a live-action movie. She clarified:
“I’ve written a treatment, and I recently worked with another writer to create a somewhat more in-depth treatment. Sincerely, I believe it will eventually become animated. It seems to have gone beyond just wanting to play Elvira in a live-action film.
Elvira leads a tranquil life with Teresa Wierson, her trainer at the gym. Elvira mentions meeting Teresa Wierson at the gym in her recently published memoir.
She is described as being “tan, tattooed, and muscular,” and from a distance, she resembles a male. The waves parted and everybody stopped in their tracks to stare as he crossed the big gym floor, Elvira recalls. “He gave off such powerful energy.”
She found “T” in the women’s restroom and realized she was a “bad girl” as opposed to a “bad guy.” After Teresa moved in with Elvira, their friendship developed into a romantic relationship.
Elvira recalls,
“There on the doorstep came my trainer, T, with a garbage bag full of her possessions, looking miserable and bedraggled.”
She had left her longtime partner, spent time in rehab, and was now homeless. She had an overpowering desire to kiss Wierson during a night out, which perplexed her.
“This is just not me,”
She soon realized the unique bond she had with Teresa, though. We had a sexual connection that was unlike anything I’d ever known, Elvira writes.
They have been dating for almost 20 years. Elvira feared a reaction from fans for coming out despite having someone who made her feel “secure, blessed, and sincerely loved.” She was also concerned about losing her job, but she decided to move on anyhow. She stated to The Orange County Register that:
“I have gay friends who came out, and it had an impact on their lives, relationships, and careers. So, having concerns is not out of the question. On the other hand, keeping it a secret is exhausting. You and I both suffer from it, and so do you. You lose all of your energy from it.
After coming out in September 2021, Elvira lost 11,000 followers. Elvira admitted that she lost 11,000 followers after coming out publicly in an early 2022 visit on David Yontef’s Behind the Velvet Rope podcast. She uttered:
“I was aware that there would be those old horny men who would just not like the idea that they no longer had a shot with me. And I hate to tell them that they already had little chance of success with me.
The ‘horny old men‘ she lost, however, were more than made up for by the 60,000 followers she attracted. Many people were surprised by the news, and some of them lost all interest in supporting her. “People have been telling me, ‘Elvira, you lied to me. I no longer respect you. Hello,” She continued.
Elvira acknowledged in her story that coming out would make people angry, yet she nevertheless did it.
I have to live with myself, and at this point in my life, I have to be truthful about who I am, she said. “I’m fully conscious that there will be people who will be disappointed and perhaps even furious, but I have to live with myself.
