At 13 Leah moved to Los Angeles with her mother, and then began her acting career in the late ’80s with appearances in several TV shows, making her debut in “Who’s the Boss?”, and following in a spin-off entitled “Living Dolls”, a situation comedy alongside Halle Berry, but which received negative reviews and was soon canceled. Leah Remini then appeared in other short-lived TV shows such as Shelley Jensen’s “First Time Out” and Arleen Sorkin’s “Fired Up”, then in 1991 appeared as Stacey Carosi in several episodes of the NBC sitcom “Saved by the Bell”. Her net worth was rising steadily.

However, it was the role of Carrie Heffernan in the CBS sitcom “The King of Queens” that gained Remini public recognition, and increased her net worth considerably, as the show ran for nine seasons until 2007. During the filming of the series, Remini also made an appearance in the comedy film “Old School” in 2003 alongside Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson, Mac Miller, Vince Vaughn, and Jeremy Piven, and since the ending of the series has appeared in a variety of series, including the webisodes of “In the Motherhood” with Cheryl Hines and Jenny McCarthy. She has also made two guest appearances on “Chelsea Lately”, hosted by Chelsea Handler.

In 2011, Remini signed a contract with ABC studios, and a year later announced her appearance in the ABC sitcom “Family Tools”, a remake of the UK series “White Van Man” which, however, lasted for only one season.

Leah Remini also co-hosted the CBS show “The Talk” in 2010, with Leslie Moonves’ wife Julie Chen, actresses Sara Gilbert, Holly Robinson Peete, and Ozzy Osbourne’s wife and television host Sharon Osbourne. However, Remini received a lot of negative feedback from the audience and critics, accused of being too loud and obtrusive, which resulted in her being fired from the show after its first season in rather acrimonious circumstances. Nevertheless, Leah Remini continues to appear on television, including in reality series and game shows, and her net worth shows that she leads a reasonably successful and profitable career in the entertainment business.

In her personal life, Leah has been married to Angelo Pagan since 2003; they have a daughter. Having entered the Church of Scientology with her mother when a teenager, Leah left in 2013, voicing dissatisfaction with the hierarchy and various policies.
