Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin said the girl’s stepmother was the only other adult there when she vanished during a news conference. Athena’s father was reportedly abroad on a deer shooting excursion.

What is the father’s name of Athena Strand?

Athena Strand’s father’s name hasn’t yet been made public. Marilyn Gandy, her birth mother, resides in southern Oklahoma and goes by that name.

Throughout the autumn semester, Maitlyn gave her permission to see her father and stepmother. Gandy is the lone parent of her kid, according to Fox News. After discovering her daughter had vanished, Gandy drove from Oklahoma to Texas in her automobile.

At a news conference to announce the finding of Strand’s death, Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin mentioned that the parents had helped with the investigation.

He stated that shortly after Strand vanished from her father’s home, she was supposed to move live with her mother in Oklahoma. In Wise County, Strand had been attending school. The names of the father and stepmother have not been made public by the police.

Family members of the missing child, Athena Strand, refuted this assertion, pointing out that Strand was frightened of the nighttime after her stepmother said that she believed Athena had left the house alone.

Her family members’ identities remain a secret.

Aunt of Strand and an Oklahoman who helped the police in their search, Keeland Kulbeth, expressed her disbelief that her niece would not leave the house voluntarily.

They categorically refute the idea that Athena escaped, claims Kulbeth. She proceeded by expressing that even though she might have been saddened by her father’s departure, she couldn’t picture herself getting up and walking away.

Located 7 miles from her father’s house, Athena Strand

Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin disclosed Athena Strand’s body was located seven miles from her father’s home on Friday, December 2, at a press conference in Cottondale. Authorities claimed to have the murder suspect in custody after he confessed to the crime.

Tanner Lynn Horner, a 31-year-old FedEx truck driver who lives nearby, is accused of kidnapping Athena Strand after an apparent altercation between her and her stepmother. Lynn left a parcel at Strand’s parents’ house when he kidnapped the daughter.

The lady told the police that when the stepmother went to her room later that day, she discovered Strand had vanished. Strand’s mother searched for her for an hour before calling the police, who believed the child had left the house on her own and then walked off.

Over 200 volunteers and several law enforcement personnel helped in the search. The corpse was located on Friday evening at about 7 or 8 pm, around seven miles from her dad’s house, after two days of searches by law authorities.

Tanner Lynn Horner, a FedEx truck driver, confessed to abducting and murdering Athena Strand on Wednesday in the late afternoon. The defendant was charged with murder in the first degree and severe abduction. Additional information concerning the crime was kept a secret by the authorities.
