“They found there was no heartbeat when I went to see the specialist,” I said.
The grieving mother was unable to leave the hospital without taking the infant girl after the baby passed away.
“I gave her the name Lelah Amore when she was 6 months old. I keep her possessions close by, including photos and roses from the funeral. It was quite profound. I am currently in labor and delivery at the hospital, but I will return home empty-handed. I spent the entire day in the room with Lelah after she was born.
They placed her in the tiny basket, and we clothed her and covered her with a blanket. They came to get her because I wanted her back and they warmed up her body so that I could keep her. Although some might consider it crazy, I had to be with her.
