In August 2004, T.I. and Cottle welcomed their son Clifford “King” Harris III into the world. After three years, the couple made the announcement that their second child would be a girl. Sadly, the pregnancy ended tragically.

“They found there was no heartbeat when I went to see the specialist,” I said.

The grieving mother was unable to leave the hospital without taking the infant girl after the baby passed away.

“I gave her the name Lelah Amore when she was 6 months old. I keep her possessions close by, including photos and roses from the funeral. It was quite profound. I am currently in labor and delivery at the hospital, but I will return home empty-handed. I spent the entire day in the room with Lelah after she was born.

They placed her in the tiny basket, and we clothed her and covered her with a blanket. They came to get her because I wanted her back and they warmed up her body so that I could keep her. Although some might consider it crazy, I had to be with her.

Leyah’s family planned a lovely funeral service for their late infant daughter. Their family members and a few others were present.

In addition, Cottle acknowledged that she only occasionally goes to the grave because it is “too sad,” especially on “holidays and special days.”

After losing the child at a young age, Cottle described feeling “very upset and depressed for a while.” The tragedy did, however, have a positive outcome in that it strengthened the bond between Leyah’s parents and encouraged their second engagement. Cottle clarified,

“We became closer as a couple as a result of it. I surrounded myself with lots of people to assist me keep my mind off of it and stop feeling so depressed.
