Chase Claypool plays for the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers. Early athletic prowess in Claypool led to the beginning of his martial arts instruction at the age of six. At that point, he believed that basketball and subsequently biking would be in his future. Claypool’s primary passion, though, was football.
As his time at Abbotsford Senior School drew to a close, Chase received more than fourteen admissions offers from prestigious colleges including Mississippi State and the University of Michigan. Chase decided to enroll in Notre Dame, where he spent four years setting record after record.
Chase made history by becoming the first rookie to score at least three receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown during the Steelers’ recent victory over Philadelphia. Chase’s parents will be examined in this article.

Chase Claypool was born in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on July 7, 1998. The Claypool family had a sister, two biological brothers, and two stepbrothers. Chase and his siblings had a close relationship, therefore Chase’s sister Ashley’s suicide in the fall of 2011 came as a great shock.
When Claypool’s mother, Jasmine, told him the terrible news, he was only partially awake. When Chase awoke to see Jasmine crying in the kitchen, he understood the seriousness of the situation.
Everyone in the family was affected by the news; Chase admitted to Strong of Heart that he had never seen his relatives sob so hard during Ashley’s funeral. Chase inked the following on his body as a tribute to his sister:
1,000 words cannot bring you back. I tried, so I understand. And a thousand tears won’t either. I am aware because I have wept. Until we next speak.

Claypool said to Strong of Heart that he developed coping skills through football, but he is concerned about Jasmine’s coping skills. It’s strange for me to not be there when my mom is alone herself, he added.
“She counts her blessings, but I’m sure she thinks about it.”
Despite the heartbreaking setback, Jasmine didn’t let it influence the way she brought up her other kids.
Jasmine was Chase’s biggest fan throughout his entire football career. Despite working two jobs, she hardly ever missed his warm-up games. During Chase’s time at Notre Dame, she went to at least five games each season, and in her last year, she went to every home game. Jasmine endorsed Chase’s success in whatever endeavor, she told Bleacher Report:
“I assumed he was a lawyer. He was always able to make a compelling case for whatever I was about to say. He always voiced his mind… Because Chase has always excelled in everything he attempts, whether it is in school or sports, we are optimistic about his future.
Chase’s father warned him in a disturbing letter about racial violence in the country
While Chase’s father didn’t do as much as Jasmine to support Chase’s profession, he did provide support and guidance when he could. As an early Father’s Day gift, Claypool showed his dad how much he appreciated it by getting him a new Dodge Ram truck.
Chase continues to have a significant impact on his son’s life, and in late August 2020, he sent his son a distressing text message advising Chase to protect himself from racial violence. “Chase, kindly don’t drive quickly, don’t get stopped over, the cops might kill you,” read the text.
