Parson said that McLaughlin was a dangerous criminal when he talked about where the execution would take place. Also, McLaughlin started to change while he was in jail for three years.
The Daily Mail says that 49-year-old Amber McLaughlin was put to death by a fatal injection on January 3, 2023. Even though Amber’s lawyers asked for leniency because she had mental health problems, the sentencing judge gave her the death penalty.
According to the petition, McLaughlin has been identified with brain damage, fetal alcohol syndrome, and borderline intellectual disability over and over again.
Why did the police arrest, Amber McLaughlin?
Amber was caught after she was found guilty of killing her lover, 45-year-old Beverly Guenther, and stalking her in 2003. Beverly was the last girl she dated. Court papers say that after they broke up, McLaughlin would often show up at Guenther’s 45-year-old workplace in a suburb of St. Louis, sometimes hiding inside. Because Guenther had been given a protection order, she had to be walked to her car by the police after work.
When Guenther didn’t come home on the evening of November 20, 2003, her neighbors called the police. When the police got to the office building, they found a broken knife handle and a trail of blood going to her car.
The next day, McLaughlin told the police where the body had been dumped in St. Louis, near the Mississippi River. During the rape, the police said, she was stabbed with a steak knife.
In 2006, Amber was found guilty of first-degree murder. When the jury couldn’t decide what to do with McLaughlin, a judge gave him the death sentence. Komp says that a court can only put a person to death in the states of Missouri and Indiana.
She was legally put to death by a shot in January 2023. McLaughlin took a few deep breaths, said her last words, and closed her eyes before she was put to death on Tuesday.
In an earlier written statement, McLaughlin also said he was sorry for what he did. I am a hardworking and caring person. While the pentobarbital injection that would kill her was being given, she mumbled to a spiritual advisor who was by her side.
Why is Amber Execution different from other books?
The execution of Amber is different from others because she is the first transgender person to be put to death in the United States. The Death Sentence Information Center says that 1558 people have been put to death since the death sentence was taken away in the mid-1970s.
