Hoda Kotb is a multitalented woman who makes everything look easy. This week, the renowned Creating Space podcast host shared some significant professional news on Instagram. Wyonna Judd and motivational guru Mel Robbins will be the first two guests on the third series of the podcast, according to Hoda.
The Journalist shared a moving statement as well as photos of herself and her guests as they taped the show. Every weekday morning, Hoda is hard at work on her podcast and hosting Today. The actress co-hosts the Fourth Hour with Savannah Guthrie and co-anchors it with Jenna Bush Hager.
Why isn’t Hoda Kotb on the show this week?
Today co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie have been noticed absently by viewers. On Monday’s edition, Sheinelle Jones, 44, and Tom Llamas, 43, filled in for the absent Today hosts. Sheinelle announced during their opening segment that Hoda and Savannah will be off on President’s Day.

Following college, Kotb’s first on-air job was at Greenville, Mississippi’s then-CBS affiliate WXVT. From 1988 to 1989, Kotb worked as a reporter for ABC affiliate WQAD in Moline, Illinois. She worked as a reporter and weekend anchor for the CBS affiliate WINK in Fort Myers, Florida, from 1989 to 1991. From 1992 to 1998, Kotb worked as an anchor and reporter for CBS affiliate WWL in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Martina McBride’s 2011 music video for the ballad “I’m Gonna Love You Through It,” dedicated to cancer survivors, asked Kotb to appear.
Hoda Kotb’s Personal Life
Kotb was born in Norman, Oklahoma, and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia, and Alexandria, Virginia. She spent the entire 1990s in New Orleans. Kotb’s parents are Egyptians. Kotb and her family spent a year in Nigeria and Egypt. She has a brother named Adel and a sister named Hala.
Her mother, Sameha (“Sami”), worked for the Library of Congress. Her father, Abdel Kader Kotb, was a fossil fuel expert who was listed in Who’s Who in Technology.
He died in 1986, at the age of 51. Kotb alluded to her Muslim heritage in an interview with the 92nd Street Y when she discussed her yearly summer vacations in Egypt, her veiled cousins, and how her parents’ immigration to the United States had saved her from having to follow suit.
