Jim Valvano, also known as James Thomas Anthony Valvano, was a renowned collegiate basketball player, coach, and commentator. Jimmy V, as Jim Valvano was also known, was a successful coach.
He worked for numerous institutions and schools. The most significant coaching assignment for the late coach was at North Carolina State University. The 1983 NCAA Division I championship for men’s basketball went to Jimmy V’s NC State team against all odds.
At the 1993 ESPY Awards, Valvano gave a heartfelt statement. He made the V Foundation for Cancer Research official at that time. Sadly, the seasoned basketball referee passed away after two months.

Pamela Valvano Strasser, the wife of Jim Valvano, is presently the Chairwoman of the V Foundation and Cancer Research.
In 1993, the foundation was created by ESPN and the late basketball coach Jimmy V with the goal of defeating cancer. More than $310 million in grants for cancer research have been given out nationally by the organization since its founding.
Additionally, the company has grown to become a leading source of funding for cutting-edge cancer research.
The widow of the late coach is also a member of the Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic Board of Directors.
It appears that Pamela Valvano has devoted her life to pursuing the objectives set forth by her late spouse. Pamela, a native of New York, and Jim were wed from 1967 to 1993. Nicole, Jamie, and LeeAnn were the three daughters born to the couple.

Jamie Valvano, the middle child of Jim Valvano, is currently employed as an advocate and motivational speaker. She has also overcome cancer.
Jamie was conceived on April 4, 1983. She accompanied her father on his travels while he was a sports broadcaster for ABC and ESPN.
Jamie, a North Carolina State University alum, began working with the V Foundation for Cancer Research shortly after the organization’s founding.
Additionally, the child of Pamela and Jim wed her high school sweetheart. It is still secret when Jamie Valvano got married and who her hubby is.
No matter what, the late basketball coach’s daughter led a lovely family with her partner. Jake and Grant Matthew, two kids, were born to her. Jamie’s husband and her, however, already no longer live together.
Jake Valvano, Jamie’s eldest child, was born on February 8, 2000. On October 30, 2002, Grant Matthew joined the family. It is said that Grant had a stroke before he was born.
The daughter of Jim and Pamela was starting to settle into her new routine when she encountered a new difficulty. The motivational speaker was given a breast cancer diagnosis in 2005.
