He was welcomed back to his hometown at the 6 a.m. broadcast by the morning hosts, producers, and the other meteorologist from WXYZ.
People were anxious to know Kevin’s future plans when it was revealed that he would be departing WXYZ-TV.
Jeanes announced on Facebook in March 2023 that he will soon be joining the WMAQ-TV NBC 5 news team in Chicago.
Having forecasted for his home TV market, a longstanding ambition for the Naperville, Illinois native Jeanes, he also stated that leaving metro Detroit with his family will be challenging.
Despite being ecstatic to start this new chapter, he noted that it was sad to leave the location he had called home for so many years.
