The heartbroken Elijah family has drawn attention as a result of the suspect’s arrest and the following filing of charges. The young man was a very devoted son whose parents never wavered in their belief in him. His relationship with his mother and father was very close.
His father, Craig DeWitt, declared that he had pardoned his son’s killers after his death. “Forgiveness is for the forgiver,” he told Fox 5. Hatred is not something we desire in our home. The mother of Elijah, Dawn, also described her son as having a good heart and said, “I want him to be known as a fierce competitor with a very big heart.”
The teenager’s greatest ambition, she continued, was to play college football. He really just embraced that dream, said Dawn, and nothing seemed to get in the way of him.
Miss DeWitt has been Elijah’s mother for 18 years and finds it hard to understand why someone would wish to kill him. The Georgia high school student was also a devoted brother to his sister, Delaney DeWitt, as well as a loving son. Elijah’s sister Delaney admitted that while she will always mourn her brother, she is sure that he will remain at her side always.
While out with his girlfriend Bailey Reidling, Elijah DeWitt passed away.

Reidling reported that on October 5 at the Lawrenceville Sugarloaf Mills Mall, the longtime couple visited Dave & Buster’s. They met up with friends there for dinner and to play video games at the arcade.
When it came time to place their meal order, DeWitt kissed Bailey on the forehead and gave her his credit card, according to Bailey’s account to Fox News Digital. She went to the bathroom first, and when she came out, she said her companion was nowhere to be seen. Elijah was shot and lying on the ground as she walked outside to look for him. After a fight, Chandler Richardson and Kemare Bryan shot Elijah to death at that same time.
