Belinda was born on March 10, 1997, in Flawil, Switzerland, to Ivan and Daniela, her father. Her father, Ivan, was a professional hockey player in the Swiss National League A and B. Ivan then became a full-time coach after working as an insurance broker. Daniela, Belinda’s mother, used to be a professional handball player.
Because both of Belinda’s parents are athletes, it seemed natural that she would follow in their footsteps. Brian, her younger brother, was a professional tennis player who competed on the ATP Tour and coached from March 2020 until June 2021.
