Without his parents’ backing, Will Zalatoris believes he never would have made it to the professional ranks, much less won a championship.
His mother gave him the drive to achieve in competition and his father introduced him to golf. Will Zalatoris is a reserved individual who stays below the radar and doesn’t post much on social media. But out on the course, he lets it fly and shows how obsessed he is with winning.
He has also stated that he got this way of thinking from his parents. 27-year-old professional golfer William Patrick Zalatoris hails from San Francisco, California. He plays on several of the main tours, including the PGA Tour. Zalatoris attended Trinity Christian Academy, where he won the US Junior Amateur Championship, and was reared in Dallas.
Wake Forest University was the next stop on his educational path. Will has received a lot of attention due to his ability, and in 2017 he was voted the ACC Player of the Year. As he progressed, he won awards like Hogan Award semifinalist, Nicklaus Award finalist, and First Team GCCA All-American.
Along with competing in every event that was offered, Will also represented the United States in the Walker Cup against players like Collin Morikawa. At this point, Zalatoris is playing at his best. He has won on the Korn Ferry Tour once and the PGA Tour once.

The pro golfer’s parents have opted to withhold their personal information. But we do know a few tales about them. Like his grandmother and uncles, Will’s father, Richard Zalatoris, was a pilot and spent more than 35 years working in retail. He also taught his kid to play golf, something he loved to do.
Richard has participated in golf at the California Golf Club and Augusta Nationals. When Will was barely seven years old, he took him to training and taught him the fundamentals of the game. He never made Will play a specific way, in contrast to other trainer dads. Instead, he let his kid develop on his own by not going to his golf lessons.
Will informed me, “I never felt that overbearing presence that so many kids might feel.” Like her son, Will’s mother Catherine was an athlete in her day. In Oregon, she competed in 400- and 800-meter sprint races. She thus developed a competitive mindset, which she then instilled in her child.
When her son was younger, she also took him to the gym so he could play against other kids. She lives in Bend, Oregon, a golf hotspot in the Pacific Northwest, despite not being a player. Will said of his mother, “She always told me: don’t force anything early.”

In 2022, Zalatoris tied the knot with his then-fiancee Caitlin. They met at Wake Forest University and started dating in 2018. On July 29th, Caitlin, who is 28 years old, celebrated her birthday. Moreover, she has a psychology bachelor’s degree, and in 2019 she will graduate from the University of Texas. The golfer routinely posts photos of his wife on Instagram, and the couple likes spending time together. They simply went to Wimbledon as a group.
