Lily Meola’s audition for America’s Got Talent (AGT) was featured in this week’s episode. On Tuesday, June 28, 2022, the traveling performer from California dazzled the judges and the live audience with her exceptional performance and stage presence. One of several contestants who displayed their skills in the show to move on in the competition was the artist.
Willie Nelson, a legend of country music, invited Lily to sing a duet with him on his album To All The Girls when she was just 20 years old because he thought she sang well.
Dream pop and folk are her favorite musical genres, although she also enjoys Americana and country music. With her impassioned presence, she astounded judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum.

Lily Meola was born in California and raised on the Hawaiian island of Maui. Her mother, Nancy Meola, was a well-known public figure in the music business as Shep Gordon’s assistant.
After learning of her mother’s cancer diagnosis, Lily took on a larger role in providing for her mother. Her mother sadly passed away in June 2020. The AGT candidate experienced anguish and melancholy after losing her mother. In an interview with Rolling Stone, she acknowledged managing sections of it. As stated by the singer:
Even though I still have bad days, I’m improving. Now that I’ve moved on to the next stage of my life, I’m trying to finish what I started and please my mother, wherever she may be.
She participated in self-care activities like baking, going to the beach, and seeing one of her closest friends, Willie Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson, to cope with the most traumatic loss of her life.

She sang and played music, which helped correctly point her. The AGT contestant fell in love with music at a young age when her mother had her listen to old-time jazz and classical music.
Ella Fitzgerald, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Cat Stevens, and James Taylor were some of her musical influences. She swiftly grabbed the stage after landing a weekly performance slot at Café des Amis in Paia, Hawaii, where she sang covers of her favorite artists.
The singer has since 2013 joined Willie Nelson at his annual Farm Aid concert in addition to playing a duet with him. She has traveled with Willie and his musical sons Lukas and Micah as well. Lily grew up with producer Bob Rock’s daughters and spent a lot of time working in the studio with him.
Additionally, the Canadian music producer helped her win over David Foster, the label’s president at the time, by getting her a development deal with Verve Records. However, because she was unprepared, the arrangement was not carried through.
The AGT contestant is now a talented songwriter who has written songs in the studio with a variety of co-writers. Don’t Stop (2020), Daydream (2021), and Sunshine are a few of her well-known singles (2022).
