Who Is Ben Porter From “Beachside Brawl”?

Ben Porter

A native of the Massachusetts town of Harwich who has a passion for food and hospitality, Ben Porter of Beachside Brawl introduces himself as such.

The chef and his wife opened their first restaurant, Viera on Main, around eight years ago. The Lanyard Bar and Grill is also owned by him. Ben Porter is one of four East Coast competitors in the Beachside Brawl who will take on the West Coast squad to prove that the East Coast has superior cuisine. At 10 p.m. ET on June 19, 2022, Food Network will air the program’s debut.

Following years of working as a chef in several eateries, such as the Glass Onion in Falmouth and the Belfry Cafe in Sandwich, Porter and his wife Angela Porter, who oversees the front of the house, opened their restaurant, Viera on Main, in 2014. Ben has spent his entire life working as a scallop fisherman and was raised on Cape Cod. In Providence, Rhode Island, he studied at Johnson and Wales.

To deliver their customers’ authentic coastal cuisine, the couple opened their restaurant. Ben told wickedlocal.com about their new endeavor in 2014:

“I think there aren’t many restaurants where you can have a whole meal made from scratch with real care for authenticity.”

We firmly believe in going above and above to give diners a Cape Cod experience that is becoming uncommon. a public eatery that emphasizes the finer points and high-quality fare, whether it’s scallops, steak, or fish and chips.

The menu at Ben’s Restaurant does not include any prepared or processed items. Since it is more affordable and wholesome to buy directly from local farmers, he buys veggies and other items from them. Also made from scratch are bread and pasta.

There are many different dishes to choose from, like wood-fired short rib ragu, fennel custard tuna, creamy truffle goat cheese polenta, fresh clam chowder, Frito Misto, and tuna Crudo. This is what Angela had to say about the menu:

Like Ben, Angela is a seasoned professional in the area. The East Carolina University student from Greenville, North Carolina, has worked at Clancy’s and the Ocean House in Dennis Port for almost ten years. The pair were looking for a location that wasn’t very congested. Ben had the following to say about the area:

We want a site with reasonable traffic, but not too much commotion. Route 28 was amazing, and there are already a ton of people coming here to eat. “I thought we might fit in here,”

What drew Angela and Ben Porter together

In Harwich kindergarten, Ben Porter and Angela first connected. Angela remembered their initial meeting as follows:

“I suppose I did ask him to my fifth-grade birthday celebration, but he didn’t attend, so I guess he was furious with me for a while.”

After leaving Harwich High School in 1995, the two went on to establish their respective careers. At a friend’s wedding a few years later, they reconnected, and the rest is history. The episode of Beachside Brawl that will air this Sunday on Food Network and Discover Plus is now under production, and Ben will be appearing there. At 10 p.m. ET, catch Ben’s culinary prowess on Beachside Brawl.
