A The Voice season 23 contestant has qualified for the United States Olympic Track & Field Championships in 2021
Chloe Abbott, the upcoming The Voice season 23 contestant, attended the University of Kentucky, where she majored in drama and minored in vocal performance. She attended Northville Michigan High School before attending college, where she developed an interest in track and field, winning state championships in the 200 meters, 400 meters, and 4 x 400 sprints as a senior. She was a four-time All-American at the University of Kentucky and finished as the NCAA finals’ first runner-up as a senior.
In 2021, the future The Voice season 23 contestant spoke with Women’s Running about her love of theater and running. She stated that she has always had to choose between theater, music, and track because both are physically demanding, and the trainers and producers do not want to divide their time.
During college, she was able to do a little bit of both, singing the national anthem in front of 62,000 football fans and 20,000 basketball fans. Season 23’s vocalist also appeared on Cabaret and in dance competitions. Her athletic endeavors were put on hold during the 2020 epidemic, allowing her to concentrate solely on music and expand her network, but she still missed running.
She stated, ”
“I have problems when I’m not doing both at the same time…
I was disgusted. I’m not going to lie, I was in a state of limbo. When I returned to the track and resumed training, I thought, ‘This makes so much sense.’ That’s how I’ve discovered it has to be for me—they collaborate to keep my mind at a pleasant, even level.”
She eventually sought help from her mother, who put her in touch with On, a Swiss-based running shoe and clothing company that had launched a distance elite training program in Colorado. As an athlete and musician, the brand’s representatives chose to support The Voice season 23 performer. Following his contract with On, the track sensation wrote and performed the original song for a promotional video.
She is described as follows on Jogging:
“Chloe, a rising star in the 400m in the United States, has her sights set on victory. She’s a blossoming music performer as well as a sprinter, and she’s ready to race to success on the track or in the studio.”
With a time of 50.98 seconds, she qualified for the United States Olympic Track & Field Championships in 2021. The Voice season 23 will premiere on NBC on Monday, March 6, at 8 p.m. ET.
