Wednesday nights are about to become a lot more interesting, as Season 44 of Survivor is set to premiere on CBS in less than a day.
Fans will be introduced to a new group of competitors who will arrive on the abandoned island prepared to complete a variety of physical tasks in order to become the competition series’ final survivor. The first episode of CBS’ Survivor Season 44 will air on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. CT. The following is the official synopsis of the upcoming reality TV challenge series:
“Stranded on the beautiful islands of Fiji, 18 determined new castaways will be divided into three groups of six and forced to create a new society as they adjust to their physical and social circumstances.”
Claire Rafson, a 25-year-old tech investor who believes her upbeat demeanor will hide her intelligence, is one of the candidates who will appear this season. With Season 44 of Survivor only a few weeks away, here’s everything you need to know about Claire Rafson.
A Survivor Season 44 contestant Claire Rafson has been a partner at Eniac Ventures since October 2021
Claire graduated from Dartmouth College with a bachelor’s degree in history and Native American studies. She was a member of the “SHEBA Dance Ensemble (Director), Inter-Sorority Council (VP of DE&l), Academic Mentor, Sigma Delta Sorority (Executive), Rockefeller Center for Public Policy, and Dartmouth Outing Club” during her time at Dartmouth, according to her LinkedIn page.
She is currently employed as an investment at Eniac Ventures. Her job also required her to “invest in potential early-stage companies,” according to her LinkedIn profile. Claire revealed to Parade in an exclusive interview prior to her debut on the competition series that being on Survivor was one of her life goals.
She went on to say that she’d been waiting since she was four years old, or about 21 years now and that she’d always wanted to give it a try, finally finding the courage to register this year.
Claire described her best performance in previous competitions as follows:
“Because there are so many examples, I think this is a bit of a cop-out. The Cook Islands were probably my most memorable experience. I admired the Aitu Four’s dominance. And my favorite times were when they sent Candice to Exile Island.”
Claire disclosed one event that helped her prepare for the competition:
“I believe it is difficult, so I will compromise on this one. Simply existing, I believe, has been that life experience for me. (Laughs.) So, in comparison, I’m a 5’2″ gay African-Jewish lady who is quite boisterous. So, for my entire life, I’ve been the odd one out, standing out like a swollen thumb everywhere I’ve gone.”
