Thomas is an American lawyer and an Associate Justice of the US Supreme Court. He was nominated to the Supreme Court by President George H.W. Bush in 1991, where he spent more than 30 years.
Prior to being appointed to the Supreme Court, Thomas held the positions of Chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
He is renowned for his rigid application of the Constitution and conservative legal theory.
Following Thurgood Marshall’s 1991 retirement from the Supreme Court, Thomas is the second African American to hold a position on the court.

In Pin Point, Georgia, on June 23, 1948, M. C. Thomas and Leola Williams gave birth to Clarence.
After his father left the family when he was a little kid, his mother and grandmother reared him.
His early years were plagued by poverty. He was reared in a mostly black neighborhood where the majority of people spoke the Creole language Gullah, which has African origins.
After hearing that Leola was out, many were interested to learn more about his mother.
In a recent ProPublica investigation, it was discovered that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas had sold three personal properties to wealthy contributor Harlan Crow, one of which had belonged to Thomas’ mother Leola Williams. Thomas also neglected to declare his financial relationship with Crow.
According to a Joel Anderson interview for the forthcoming season of Slow Burn, Leola Williams, the mother of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, continues to live in the house sold to Harlan Crow.

Clarence Thomas’s ethnicity and family background
Thomas comes from an African American family with deep roots in society. He was created in 1948 in Pin Point, Georgia, and his ancestors were slaves.
Myers and Christine Anderson, Thomas’s maternal grandparents, assisted in raising him and his younger brother when their father abandoned the family when Thomas was a small kid.
Thomas and Myers, his younger brother, were reared together, and the two are very close and supportive of one another.
Thomas is often categorized as being African American in terms of ethnicity. Although he has not publicly addressed his genetic background or any probably mixed heritage, his forefathers were probably of African descent.
Clarence Thomas’ second wife is Virginia Lamp Thomas, with whom he has been married twice. Since their marriage in 1987, they have remained together.
The couple does not have any children together, and nothing is known about their private lives.
Virginia Lamp Thomas is a conservative activist who works as a lobbyist for a number of political parties and causes.
She also started Liberty consultancy, a corporation that provided political consultancy to conservative clientele.
He first wed Kathy Ambush, with whom he had a son named Jamal Adeen Thomas, before Virginia. His son has a son and is married.
Clarence and Kathy were no longer together, but he still got along well with his son and grandson. Their divorce’s cause has not been made public.
