Ellie Breaux was selected as Miss Texas 2023 on Saturday, July 1 at the Charles W. Eisemann Centre for Performing Arts in Richardson, Texas.
She defeated 56 other women at the 86th iteration of the competition to win the coveted title, sash, crown, and a 20,000 USD scholarship. Houston native Ellie Breaux previously held the title of Miss Tarrant County. After her victory, she visited Miss America Texas’ Instagram account and left a heartfelt message:
I’m still having trouble believing what’s happening. To be sure I’m not dreaming, I always have to look in the mirror.
In addition to winning Miss Texas 2023, Ellie Breaux also triumphed in the prestigious contest’s preliminary rounds, including the evening gown and talent show. Breaux performed a dance routine and a rhythmic gymnastics routine to the song Hold My Hand from Lady Gaga’s Top Gun: Maverick.

2023, aged 22 Lady Texas The University of North Texas awarded Ellie Breaux a Bachelor of Science in marketing last month with a focus on retailing, international marketing, and business policy. She is currently working towards her lifelong goal of being a fashion designer.
“Cops in the Community,” a civic initiative started by Ellie, a Houston police officer’s daughter, aims to close the gap between law enforcement and the general public:
She said after her recent victory,
“My goal is for our children to see police officers as heroes instead of adversaries.”
After being crowned, she continued:
“I want Texas to be one…I have a history in law enforcement, and there is a great deal of miscommunication between police officers and the communities they serve. And I’m making a lot of effort to heal that rift so that Texas and eventually America can come together.”
Ellie Breaux started competing in pageants when she was a college freshman, but she never imagined doing so on such prestigious stages as Miss Texas or Miss America. However, once she realised that competing in pageants would aid her in developing her community service programme, she was powerless to stop.
She intends to use the $20,000 college scholarship she won at Miss Texas in 2023 to pay off some of her student loans and acquire a Master’s degree in fashion design. Ellie Breaux spent four years working as a lifeguard while still in high school, and then did it again while in college.
According to her LinkedIn page, Elli Breaux worked as a lifeguard at a Houston waterpark and a personal shopper at H-E-B during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has worked as a model for Varsity and a part-time marketing assistant for Terry Costa, Sherri Hill, and Varsity. She holds the Miss Texas Organisation title in her community and is a trained ballet dancer.
Breaux was chosen as Miss Keller in February 2019, Miss Park Cities in September 2021, and Miss Tarrant County in 2022. First runner-up honours at Miss Texas 2023 went to Lamesa resident and former Miss DeWitt County Madison Matlock on July 1. As a recent graduate of Southern Methodist University, she was given a $10,000 grant.
