Cadillac Williams, a former NFL player and coach, met his wife, Evan Christina Davis, while attending Auburn State University as freshmen.
Williams made the bold move of proposing to Christina after nine incredible years together. This lovely couple has been married for 12 years and is the proud parents of two wonderful children, Cole and Cuinn. Carnell Lamar Williams, aka Cadillac Williams, was born on April 21, 1982, in Gadsden, Alabama.
Williams also attended Etowah High School in Attalla, Alabama, and graduated there. William went on to earn a sociology degree and play football for Auburn State University. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted him in the 2005 NFL Draft. That same year, he was named AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
In 2007, he ruptured two patellar tendons, necessitating surgery and prolonged rehabilitation. Williams then became an unrestricted free agent and signed as a backup with the St. Louis Rams. Finally, he decided to abandon football and pursue a coaching career.

Carnell Williams met his lifelong love, Evan Christina Davis, during their first year at Auburn State University. Williams proposed to Christina after nine years of happy marriage at a romantic New Year’s Eve dinner cruise in sunny Florida. The couple married on July 2, 2011, in the beautiful city of Decatur, Georgia. Furthermore, the wedding took place in the morning at a beautiful church on the Agnes Scott College campus.
Evan Christina states:
“Carnell and I are college sweethearts, so we should have wed on a college campus.”
The couple is now happily married with two wonderful sons, Cole and Cuinn. At the same time, Evan Christina adores sharing images of her gorgeous family on her public Instagram account. Williams’ Twitter feed is packed with photos of his lovely wife and stunning children. Christina has thrived as an outstanding educational administrator.
Cadillac Steps Down as Auburn Coach
After his coaching career, Williams obtained a position as an offensive graduate assistant at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia, in 2016. He then became the running backs coach for IMG Academy’s newly founded IMG White football team in Bradenton, Florida.
In 2018, he was named the Birmingham Iron’s running backs coach in the Alliance of American Football. Head coach Gus Malzahn appointed Williams as Auburn’s running backs coach in January of 2019. Following his impressive stats, Williams was retained as running backs coach by new head coach Bryan Harsin. Auburn fired Bryan Harsin on October 31, 2022, and hired Williams as temporary head coach.
Furthermore, he defeated Texas A&M 13-10 in his first game as head coach on November 12, 2022. Williams finished the 2022 regular season 2-2 as temporary head coach. When Hugh Freeze was named permanent head coach on November 28, he retained him as an assistant. Finally, on January 11, 2024, William made the brave decision to resign from Auburn, citing family reasons.
