Janick Arseneau, a Dance 100 competitor, began performing when he was three years old
Janick Arseneau, one of the eight candidates scheduled to compete in Dance 100, previously appeared on Season 3 of So You Think You Can Dance Canada in 2010. She came in fourth place and received $5,000. The Dance 100 contestant is from Bathurst and began performing at the age of three when she began formal instruction and continued until she was 18 years old. According to Arseneau’s website, Ballet has always been a part of her life and has helped her get through some difficult times.
Her official website states:
“I’ve always wished to be a talented performer. One of my childhood dreams was to be a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Coming from a small town, I knew my chances of success were slim.”
Janick was well aware that she needed to make “big moves,” and she was always conscious of her goals. She moved to Montreal after graduating from high school, leaving her friends and family behind to pursue a career as a professional performer.
The Dance 100 contestant has previously appeared as a dancer in the video game The Michael Jackson: The Experience and as an aide on Michael Jackson’s The Immortal Tour with Cirque du Soleil, both of which were directed by NappyTabs. She previously appeared in Julia Roberts’ Mirror Mirror and Make Your Move 3D. Janick went on to appear on Season 7 of America’s Best Dance Crew and was a performer in Step Up 5: All In.
Her profile also includes the following information:
“I am now residing in Los Angeles and achieved my greatest objective yet. “I am performing with Jennifer Lopez in her three-year engagement performance at the Axis venue in Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas as my first work in the United States.”
She’s shared the stage with CeeLo Green, Def Leppard, Melissa Etheridge, Kelly Clarkson, Marie-Mai, and others.
The Dance 100 contestant appeared in Jennifer Lopez’s Ain’t Your Mama, Dinero, El Anillo, and Limitless, as well as performing at the MTV Movie Awards with Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson, the RDMAs with Hailee Steinfeld, and the VMAs with Rihanna.
According to her biography:
“Even though I have accomplished many of my goals, my ambitions do not stop there. I believe that there is always more to learn and accomplish as a performer and as a person, and that one should never compromise. You can make it a reality if you can imagine it.”
She will now be a part of Netflix’s Dance 100, which will premiere on the streaming service on Friday, March 17, at 3:01 a.m. ET.
