On December 14, 1960, James Brien Comey was born in Yonkers, New York. He is the son of Joan Marie, a housewife and computer consultant, and J. Brien Comey, a corporate real estate agent.
His family moved to Allendale, New Jersey, in the early 1970s. E went to Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale. He graduated from the College of William & Mary with a bachelor’s degree in theology and chemistry in 1982.
